There is roughly 15 million cubic yards of concrete poured in Houston every year. concrete is used for everything from driveways and sidewalks to subdivision streets, parking lots, shopping centers, grocery stores, interstates, and municipal roads. Not to mention bridges and overpasses. With approximately 40,000 new homes built each year that means there will be almost 3 million feet of roadway just for these houses, that’s over 568 miles of roadway built each year. Heading up the Western Paving Division for Harper Construction is Darren Bretting, a life-long Houstonian. A civil engineer, Bretting brings many years of knowledge and experience to the company, as well as many contacts in the Houston area to expand the company’s market share.
